WhatsApp Bot Pricing: Subscriptions, Custom Builds and First-Year Costs

A WhatsApp bot can be a subscription to an existing product or a development project for your business. A monthly price alone does not make the two comparable. Check included capabilities, required integrations and maintenance responsibilities.

Subscription or custom development?

For a subscription, test whether the existing product handles your workflows. Providing configured prices, booking appointments and organizing inquiries can be assessed during a trial. A ready-made platform still needs your business information and acceptance testing.

A custom build can suit a unique workflow, internal system or action that the existing product does not support. Compare ownership, ongoing support and the ability to change the system. Not every change requires a developer; that depends on the interface and agreement.

As one published Israeli example, Achiya Automation advertises complete systems at ILS 3,500–12,000 setup and ILS 100–300 monthly operation, subject to scope and third-party charges. That is one supplier’s offering, not a universal market rate or an identical service to DanAI.

Compare the full first-year cost

Add setup, twelve monthly payments and separately billed usage or services. A subscription at ILS 500 for twelve months totals ILS 6,000. A hypothetical project with ILS 6,000 setup and ILS 200 monthly maintenance totals ILS 8,400 in its first year.

The project numbers are illustrative. They do not mean a subscription is always cheaper: setup does not recur in the second year, while support and requirements may change. Compare equivalent scope and billing terms.

Six questions to ask before buying

1. How is WhatsApp connected? Ask whether the product uses a QR connection or the official API, and what it requires from your number and account. DanAI’s WhatsApp product page describes QR setup.
2. What does the price cover? Check messages, contacts, channels, storage, integrations and support.
3. Who updates business information? Change a sample price and check the next reply.
4. What happens when information is missing? Test an unknown question and an explicit request for a person.
5. How will success be measured? Use booked appointments, qualified inquiries or purchases. Message volume is not a sales metric.
6. What are the trial and cancellation terms? Check when payment details are required and when billing begins.

Test with your own business

Choose ten real inquiries and remove personal information. Include prices, hours, scheduling, cancellation, missing information and a typo. Write the desired answer for each and compare it with the system’s response.

Will it pay for itself?

Measure that using your business results. For illustration, if an additional sale contributes ILS 250 and the subscription costs ILS 500, two additional monthly sales cover the subscription alone. Include setup and staff time, and do not credit the bot with a sale that would have happened anyway.

Distinguish slow replies, disorganized follow-up and too few inquiries. A bot handling incoming conversations does not replace customer acquisition.
